Do I have to use your cost data?
No. The database is yours — you can build it from your historical costs, and keep it private to your organisation. Benchmark data is available if you want a starting point.
Can I estimate before the takeoff is done?
Yes. Historical area cost per square foot gives an early conceptual number, which you replace with line-item detail as the takeoff progresses.
